JOHN V. KAREZNA
WOLCOTT ~ John V. Karezna, 85, of Wolcott passed away on Tuesday, November 24th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Vera (Johnson) Karezna.
Mr. Karezna was born September 2, 1924 in Waterbury, son of the late John and Anna Karezna. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII. He retired from Engineered Sinterings & Plastics Co. after many years of service. John enjoyed fishing, woodworking and was a longtime dedicated ham radio operator. He was a member of the A.R.R.L.
Besides his wife of 64 years, he leaves his daughters, Janice Calabretta of Bristol and Beverly Bonvisuto and her husband, Fran of Wolcott, his brothers, Joseph, Walter, and Daniel of Waterbury, his sister, Julia Barkauskas of FL, his grandchildren, Dawn, Michele and Stacy, and his great grandchildren, Bodhi, Jake, Kai, and Bija. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Sherry.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 29th at 2 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Family and friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
