John Bridschge "Bud Bridgee" WATERBURY ~ John F. Bridschge, 78 of Waterbury passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at his home while surrounded by his family. He was the widower of Patricia (Johnson) Bridschge. John was born February 11, 1934 in Waterbury, son of the late John Fred and Adelaide (Evans) Bridschge. He started a career as a truck driver for Bozzutos in 1967 and stayed until his retirement. John built race cars into the 1970s as he was a mechanic and race car owner. He spent many days on the track with friends and family in various places such as Plainville, Middletown, Danbury, New York and at Riverside Park in Massachusetts. He also helped to break and train horses; at one time he was a Roman Rider, Jumping cars with two horses, one foot on each horse while standing. He leaves his children, Daniel Bridschge and his wife Holly of Wolcott, Lisa George of Plymouth, brothers, Richard Bridschge of Southington, Ronald Bridschge of Bristol, Edward Bridschge of California, a sister, Jackie Bellemare of Wolcott, a close nephew, Billy Bellemare, six grandchildren, Christin, Amber, Kayleigh, Daniel Jr., Kelli , Allison and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd at 11:00 am at the New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Rd. in Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery office. Woodtick Memorial has been entrusted with Buds arrangements.
