WOLCOTT ~ John Bokon, 92, of Wolcott passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital. He was the widower of Lucy (Santoro) Bokon.
John was born September 23, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN, son of the late Joseph Bokon, Sr. and Austina (Rukla) Bokon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving on the USS Ringgold and received 10 Battle Stars for his bravery. He retired from the Waterbury Buckle after 40 years of service. John was a member of the VFW Post 1979 and the American Legion Post 165.
He leaves his brother, Joseph Bokon and his wife, Frances of Wolcott, his nephews, David Santoro of CA, Steven Bokon of FL, Michael Bokon of Wolcott, David Bokon of Cheshire, Fred Markowich of Harwinton, and Pat Mascia of Waterbury, his niece, Maryann Lepo of Wolcott. He was predeceased by his siblings, Alexandra Markowich and Peter Bokon.
