Obituary

Joan (Lamitola) Labonte loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at her home on August 13, 2025 surrounded by the love of her husband Thomas.

Born on March 4, 1960, Joan was the daughter of the late Raymond and Joan (Delaney) Lamitola. Joan leaves to cherish her memory her loving, devoted husband Thomas of 38 years, her two sisters Deborah (Lance) Vassar, Palma (Mark) Lebel, her brothers-in-law Ronald (Crystal) Labonte, Edward (Sandra) Labonte, and her sisters-in-law Lori (Bruce) Lacombe, and Sandra (Curtis) Audibert. She leaves her nephews Ryan (Angela) Vassar, and James Vassar who she loved like sons and her great nieces Isabella, Gabriella and Gianna Vasser and her great nephew Ryan Vassar II.

Cherishing her memory are her nieces and nephews Bruce (Lori) Lacombe, Michael (Jennifer) Lacombe, Steven Lacombe, Jacob Audibert, Olivia Audibert, Jillian Audibert and great niece and nephew Sadie Lacombe and Bruce Lacombe.

Left to cherish her memory are many cousins. She had had an unbreakable bond with her best friend Betsy Brown and her God daughter Emily Brown. Their love spoke volumes in the love and support given to Joan through the years and especially during her final days.

Joan was a dedicated employee of Hayden Ametek with over four decades of commitment to excellence there. She leaves many friends and coworkers.

Joan always looked forward to camping at Hamonasset Beach State Park with Tom and the many friends she made there over the years.

She will be remembered as the consummate hostess making sure to create lasting memories during holidays, birthdays, and celebrations.

She was a gifted artist, making signs and drawing pictures for birthday posters for her family, whatever the theme she made it.

Joan took great pride in her home. She looked forward to sitting by the firepit with friends and family listening, singing and dancing to her Alexa playlist.

A lover of animals, in her passing she will be reunited with her fur babies Menew and Isis.

Joan's time on earth was so short but her memory will live forever in the hearts and minds of the people she loved!

Calling hours will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Joan's life will be celebrated with a memorial service beginning at 1 PM.
