Wolcott Joan P. (Longo) Kane, 84, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at River Glen Health Care in Southbury. She was the loving wife of the late William E. Kane who predeceased her in 1992. Joan was born on March 16, 1937 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Edmond and Elizabeth (Seymour) Longo. Joan had her undergraduate degree from UConn and her masters degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Joan was very active in town politics and served on many boards and committees throughout the years. She was also an active golfer and a past vice president of Farmingbury Hills Ladies Golf Association, in which she was proud to have scored a "Hole in One" in 2008. Joan is survived by her four children, Cynthia Murphy and her husband Thomas, JoAnn Lesnikoski, William Kane and his wife Katarina, and Martin Kane and his wife Jocelyn; 11 grandchildren, Thomas, Heather, Bryanna, Brendan, Erin, Kaitlyn, Leah, Kelsey, Spencer, Kiersten, and Emma; two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Piper; three sisters Sue Koeller, Marie Lamm, and Sandra Merrill; her sister-in-law Elaine Longo; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bud and Vincent Longo. Family and friends may call on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
