On Thursday October 30, 2025, Mrs. Joan Marie (Donahue) Crowley was reunited with her husband of 47 years, John P. Crowley Sr., who passed in 2003. At the age of 92, Joan passed peacefully surrounded by her loving children at Cheshire House in Waterbury.
Born in Waterbury on May 31, 1933, Joan was the daughter of the late Aidan and Martha Burns Donahue. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing and resided in Wolcott since she was 10 years old. Joan was a kind, quiet and spiritual person who deeply loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her loving legacy are her five children Maureen Keith, John P. Crowley Jr. and his wife Diane, Kevin M. Crowley and his wife Susan, Mark A. Crowley and his wife Cheryl, and Karen A. Gauthier, her ten grandchildren John, Sean, Lisa, Caitlin, Raymond, Kevin, Daniel, Mark, Nicole, Cassandra, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband John Sr., she was predeceased by her son-in-law Thomas Keith and three brothers Aidan, Robert and Kenneth Donahue.
Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday November 10, 2025, beginning at 11 AM at St. Pius X Church/ St. Basil Parish 517 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contributions in memory of Joan are requested to be made to the St. Jude Chidren's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
