Waterbury- Mrs. Jeannette (LaMadeleine) Grandpre, 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 24, with her sister Annette, Nancy and Dana, by her side. She was the widow of Alvares Grandpre and David Pollender.
Mrs. Grandpre was born April 14, 1918 in St-Ephrem dUpton, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Alphone and Cordelia (Gerrard) LaMadeleine. She will be remembered for her love of birds, sewing, gardening and playing solitaire.
She is survived by three step-sons, Francis Grandpre and his wife Patricia of Middlebury, Paul Grandpre and his wife Patricia of Wolcott and Donald Grandpre and his wife Nancy of Watertown; one daughter, Mary Logan and her husband William of AZ; two sisters, Annette LaMadeleine of Middlebury and Yvette LeBlanc of AL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her extended family, Dana and Peter Kubiska and their children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff of Middlebury Convalescent Home for the loving care they have provided to Jeannette.
Arrangements: A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 28, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Leo the Great Church. Friends may call at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Research Foundation of America 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
