Jean Guy Ouellette passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at the age of 90. Jean was born in Canada on February 15, 1936. He was the son of the late Albenie and Cecile (LaBrie) Ouellette. In 1952, His family moved to Waterbury, CT from Lac Baker, New Brunswick, Canada. In 1961, Jean married his beautiful wife, Shirley (Berube), and soon after built their home in Wolcott, CT. There, he raised his two sons Michael and Mark. Jean was a very talented and hardworking drywaller. So much so, that he started the Jean G. Ouellette Drywall Co. with his brother, Wilmer. His sons, Michael and Mark, and nephew Shane, also contributed to the company's success. Jean was dedicated to his drywall business until he retired at 80 years old. Jean was best known for his kindness and selflessness towards his many friends and neighbors. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed one. As one of the regulars at Bill and Sam’s Diner, there are probably many stories still swirling about Jean. Jean is predeceased by his wife Shirley (Berube) Ouellette, his two sons Michael and Mark Ouellette, his sister Joanne (Ouellette) Classey, and his brother Leon (and wife Loretta) Ouellette, and his beloved puppy, Missy, whom would travel with him everywhere. He is survived by his brothers, Wilmer (and wife Diane) Ouellette and Luke (and his wife Viola) Ouellette. As well as his many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his care team from Reliant Angels Home Care for their compassionate and loving care during his final years. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott, CT. Burial immediately following at Edgewood Cemetery. Calling hour will be from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
