Wolcott- Mrs. Jean (Messer) Brouillard, 72, died on Wednesday, June 25, at the Pines of Bristol. She was the widow of Rene Brouillard, Sr.
Mrs. Brouillard was born February 25, 1942 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Frederick and Marion (Wolfe) Messer. She had been employed for many years at the Waterbury Republican American as a district manager and was known as Jean the paper lady. Jean enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques and trips to the casino, but especially enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Lauran Romaniello of Wolcott and Susette Dubois of Simsbury; two sons, Rene Brouillard, Jr of Wolcott and Steven Brouillard of Huntersville, NC; one brother, Gerald Messer of Falmouth, MA; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Joan Normand.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 30, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church. Committal will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott.
