James G. Tynan Jr. Avid Outdoorsman WOLCOTT-Mr. James G. Tynan, Jr., 80, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024 at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joanne (DiNonno) Tynan. Born in Waterbury on January 25, 1944, James was a son of the late Dr. James and Mary (Walsh) Tynan. James was honorably discharged after he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as an Air Police Sargeant and dog handler. James retired from the Town of Wolcott where he worked in the school system for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved landscaping, fishing and boating. He had a gentle and quiet demeanor. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Michele Seeley, his sister Marita Calabro, his brother Richard (Roseanne), his brother William (Janet), his brother Gerald, his brother Brian (Darlene), his sister-in-law Jill Tynan and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his son-in-law John Seeley and three brothers, Jon, Charles and Edward "Ned" Tynan. James life will be celebrated on Monday, August 12, 2024 with calling hours from 9 to 11 AM at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road in Wolcott followed by graveside services will full military honors in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
