James T. Miller “Jimmy” of Wolcott CT, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, surrounded by his siblings at Bristol Hospital after a brief illness. Born on September 24, 1952 in Waterbury, he was the beloved son of the late Edward and Ruth (Finnegan) Miller and a lifelong resident of Wolcott CT. He was a cherished brother, uncle and friend.

He leaves behind his 10 loving brothers and sisters, Eddie, Sandy, Barbara Falcha, Ricky (Pam), Keith (Ann), Dawn (Don) Ranaudo, Brian (Kim), Debbie, Mary and Patrick. He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, cousins and friends.

Jimmy was a man of faith, he valued service, friendship and helping others. He enjoyed the outdoors and working with his hands. He also loved to talk, tell stories, share opinions and turn a quick hello into a long conversation.

Throughout his career, Jimmy dedicated himself to caring for and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. He retired from Connecticut Department of Developmental Services, a career that reflected his compassion, commitment to helping others live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

He also found great purpose in his own journey of recovery and was a devoted member and sponsor of Alcoholics Anonymous. Through AA, he formed meaningful friendships, for which he was especially grateful. He generously shared his experience, strength, and hope with countless others.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Hospice Care Team at Bristol Hospital for the compassionate care, comfort and support they provided to Jimmy during his final days.

Jimmy’s life will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Calling hours will be from 10 AM  to 12PM, followed by a prayer service and eulogy. A private burial will be held with immediate family.
