WOLCOTT ~ James T. Angell, Sr., 66, loving husband of Cheryll (Barbuto) Angell of Wolcott passed away peacefully on April 15th at Waterbury Hospital with his wife, Cheryll at his side.
James was born April 6, 1945 in Waterbury, son of the late David and Edna (LaPointe) Angell. He was employed at Nucor Steel of Wallingford and was a member of St. Pius X Church. He was a longtime member of the Wolcott Lions Club and was a constant volunteer at many of their functions. He was a former member of the Wolcott High School Music Association where he served as president and was a coach for the Wolcott Baseball Association for many years. James enjoyed gardening and was well know for his meticulous lawn. In his spare time, he pursued his hobby of bird watching.
Jim leaves his wife, Cheryll of 37 years, his son, James T. Angell, Jr of Wolcott, his twin brothers, Edmond Angell of Waterbury and David Angell of Wolcott, brothers, John Angell of Waterbury and Joseph Volz of Plymouth, his sisters, Ann Willey of Gorman, TX and Joan Thomas of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, William.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 8:45 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Pius X Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 pm.
