IVAN "JOE" ROSSIGNOL Former Wolcott Resident SUMMERFIELD, FL ~ Ivan "Joe" Rossignol, 81, of Summerfield passed away on March 10th at Tuscany House. He was the husband of Charlene Swanson and the widower of Hilda (Huot) Rossignol. "Joe" was born February 16, 1930, son of the late Amedee and Eva (Bourgouin) Rossignol. He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army and received the Korean Service Medal, and the UN Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars. A longtime resident of Wolcott, he moved to Summerfield in 1995 after retiring from Teamsters Local 677 where he served as a warden and steward. He enjoyed singing and was a jack of all trades. He was a parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Church, member of the American Legion, and a Grandmaster in the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Rossignol served on the Wolcott Town Council Zoning Board and was a member of the Farmingbury and Watertown Golf Clubs. Besides his wife, Charlene, he leaves his daughters, Gail LaFrance and her fianc, Dennis Raymond of Wolcott, and Sandra Rossignol of Albuquerque, NM; his sons, Dean Rossignol of Wolcott, Scott Rossignol and his wife, Tammy of Wolcott, his step-son, Bill Burgess and his wife Ann of Minnesota; his brother, Perley Rossignol and his wife, Pauline, his sisters, Eva Sage of Okeechobee, FL, Gladys Morrison of Hendersonville, NC, Shirley Clausen and her husband, Henry of St. Augustine, FL; his grandchildren, Jaime Rodman and her husband, Neal, Amanda Sullivan and her husband, Sean, Robert Fernandez, Scott Rossignol II, Dean, Jr. and Garrett Rossignol; his great grandchildren, Molly and Jack Rodman, Ian and Savannah Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Stephanie Rossignol, and his brother, Lawrence Rossignol. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 26th at 9 am at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial of Ivans cremains will take place late in the spring in Woodtick Cemetery.
