Wolcott - Mrs. Irene (Kusslow) Graph, 100, of Wolcott, passed away on April 7, 2020 at her home.
Irene was born on November 3, 1919 in Meriden, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Friedman) Kusslow. She moved to Waterbury during WWII to work for the Ordinance Dept. where she met her husband, Francis Graph who predeceased her in 1995. They enjoyed many summers camping by the water in Narraganssett, R.I.
Irene had a passion for cake decorating, making wedding cakes and teaching classes for Wilton. She also loved to knit and sew. For many years she made and donated sixteen afghans per year for The Hole in the Wall Camp. As part of the Friday Morning Knitters Club at the Wolcott Senior Center, she donated hundreds of knitted skull caps for American Soldiers. Irene was also a longtime member of the Farmingbury Womans Club of Wolcott, enjoying her many friends and being part of the Busy Bees Committee.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Manuck and her husband William of Glastonbury; a son, Donald Graph of Sarasota, Fl; granddaughters, Julie Manuck Campbell and her husband Ben, and Kathryn Manuck; five great-grandchildren, who gave her great joy; her devoted nephew, Martin Kusslow; and her special caregiver, Pearl James. She was predeceased by her siblings, Faye Dean and Irving Kusslow; and her grandson, Jeffrey Manuck.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury will be held privately.
