Wolcott Irene M. Albert, 100, of Wolcott passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Bride Brook Health Care in Niantic. She was the loving wife of the late Robert A. Albert. Irene was born on June 17, 1921 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Yvonne Moisan and John Canale. Irene was a longtime member of St. Pius X Church in Wolcott where she served in the Ladies Guild and the Altar Society. Irene enjoyed crocheting, playing bridge, coloring, and was an avid UConn Womans Basketball Fan. Irene cherished the time she was able to spend with her loving family. Irene is survived by her six children, Janet Jalbert and her husband Fran of Waterbury, Robert Albert and his wife Elaine of Florida, John Albert and his wife Theresa of Waterbury, Ronald Albert and his wife Cheryl of Bethlehem, Glenn Albert and his wife Sue of Wolcott, and Brian Albert and his wife Robin of Uncasville; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson Christopher Nocera. Funeral services were held privately.
