Obituary

Wolcott - Mrs. Ida A. (Lecomte) OConnor, 93, died Thursday morning, June 12, at the Vitas Innovative Hospice at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Raymond J. OConnor. Mrs. OConnor was born July 11, 1920 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Alphonse and Sylvia (Bouffard) Lecomte. She was a member of the Charles Reitdyke Senior Center and a communicant of St. Pius X Church. She especially enjoyed being with her family and being "Gram" to her grandchildren and "Memere" to her great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of puzzles, word games, crocheting, playing games on her I-Pad and her love of flowers. Ida is survived by her daughters, Shirley Fryer and her husband Jeff of Wolcott and Darlene Zembrzuski and her husband Walt of Wolcott; her sister, Edna Beck of Wolcott; her grandchildren, Kevin Zembrzuski and his wife Karen, Jeffrey Fryer and his wife Kim, Bryon Fryer and his wife Trish, Dawn Beard and Debra Cratty and her husband Fred; her great Grandchildren, Deana, Melissa, Ryan, Christopher, Matthew, Kaylie, Jake, Brooke, Kasey, Taylor and Ethan and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Armand Lecomte. Idas family would like to thank the staff of St. Marys Hospital Emergency Department, the staff on Xavier 3 and the staff of Vitas Innovative Hospice for the loving care provided to Ida. Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 15, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 16, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Pius X Church. Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Idas name to the Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance Association.
