WATERBURY ~ Mr. Henry "Paul" Caron, Sr., 80, of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Midstate Hospital. He was the husband of Lorraine (Ferland) Caron.
"Paul" was born June 24, 1931 in Waterbury, son of the late Joseph and Marie (Deshaies) Caron. He retired in 1994 from Lewis Engineering/Colt Tech after 42 years of service and was a member of the Shrine of St. Anne. He enjoyed filming videos, especially those of his family and grandchildren. His video for the rival match of the girls basketball teams between Torrington High School and Holy Cross High School appeared on ESPN Sports Nation. To his family and friends, he was nicknamed "McGiver" as he enjoyed repairing broken items and working in his yard.
Besides his wife, Lorraine of 54 years, he will be missed by his children, Chic Caron and his wife, Sandy of Bristol, Robert Caron and his wife Julie of Oxford, and Barbara Balnis of Torrington, his grandchildren, Nikki and Kelli Balnis, Jesse and Shane Caron and Ella and Sophie Caron, his brother, Charlie Caron and his wife Patricia of Cheshire, and his sister, Lillian Valenti of Plymouth, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to the Shrine of St. Anne for a funeral mass at 11 am. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at Woodtick Memorial.
