Henrietta B. Downey WOLCOTT ~ Henrietta (Bouffard) Downey, 91, of Wolcott passed away Saturday afternoon, September 19th at the Wolcott View Manor. Born, raised and married in Waterbury, CT, she and her family moved to Wolcott in 1953. The bedrock of her family, she led an active life as homemaker and later as waitress and employee of National Tea Company. She was a member of the Farmingbury Womens Club. She is survived by three sons, William and his wife Elizabeth from Chicago, Illinois and Leawood, KS, James of Wolcott, CT., John and his wife Nancy of Dayton, Ohio ; seven grandchildren, Kim Whitson, John Downey, James Downey, Hugh Downey, Lindsay Downey, Kate Downey and Jeri Downey and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Hugh, her husband of 68 years; son, Hugh, her parents Ralph and Eva Bouffard of Waterbury, brother Joseph and sister Jeanette Rogers. She also leaves her sister, Doris Grady, two nieces, Barbara (Grady) Nave and Diane (Grady) Pastore of Wolcott, CT. and nephew Alan Rogers of Lawrence, KS. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm.
