Harriet (Stuessi) Urban, 90, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Watertown Convalarium. She was predeceased by her husband John Urban. Mrs. Urban was born May 22, 1925 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Jacob and Madelin (Rosa) Stuessi. Raised in Waterbury, she attended local schools and graduated from Saint Margarets High School. She received her bachelors degree from Barnard College Columbia University. She received her masters degree in Educational Administration and Supervision, from the University of Connecticut in 1954. Harriet was a teacher in the Waterbury school system. She also worked for many years as an employee at Sears. She spent time as a volunteer for animal rescue. Harriet is survived by her daughter, Mary Baker, and her husband, Eric Baker, Abby and Jamie, ; her two sons, Jonathan Urban; and Jason Urban, Survivors include sister, Helen S. Audibert; nephews, David , and wife, Gail; Kevin and Curtis and wife, Sandy; and nine great nieces and nephews; cousins in Switzerland, Margrith Schneider, and Reiner ; Hans Rudolph Reck, and wife, Esty . She is predeceased by sister, Dorothy S. Cavanaugh. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A service will be held Wed., at 9:30 a.m., at the funeral home. A burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury.
