WATERBURY - Mrs. Gertrude M. Guerrette, 92, of Bristol, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on July 28 at the Cheshire House. She was the widow of Leon Guerrette. Gertrude was born on February 18, 1920 in St. Andrew, N.B. Canada, she was one of 15 children of the late Dennis and Marianne (Rioux) Cormier. Gertrude loved to spend time with her family and always made her home special. She was always cleaning for her family and others as well as knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was a woman devoted to her family and Faith she watched Mass on T.V. and went to church regularly. She was a former member of the Shrine of St. Anne Church in Waterbury and the Ladies of St. Anne before moving to Bristol and then became a member of St. Ann Parish. Mrs. Guerrette is survived by her daughters, Barbara and Gerald Gleason of Plantsville, Dianne and Robert McCarthy of Naugatuck, Annette and Richard Vanasse of Bristol, a nephew Dennis Bouffard and a niece Elise Strevel as well as many others, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by all her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 8:45 am from Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott to St. Ann Parish in Bristol for a Mass at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the New Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
