Obituary

GEORGE E. PRONOVOST, JR. WATERBURY ~ George E. Pronovost, Jr., 82 of Waterbury passed away on Saturday, January 31 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Helen M. (Cheripinsky) Pronovost. Mr. Pronovost was born October 17, 1926 in Waterbury, son of the late George E. and Lydia (Brouillette) Pronovost, Sr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and retired from Bozzutos IGA of Cheshire after 15 years of service. He served as a Union Steward for many years. George enjoyed the outdoors and was known to all as a "Jack of All Trades", always busy with projects. Besides his wife of 54 years, he leaves his children, Denise Moss and her husband, Walter of Acton , ME, Denis Pronovost of Naugatuck, David Pronovost and his fianc, Heidi Moore of Ansonia, and Donna Holmes and her husband, Dudley of Beaufort, S.C., his sisters, Theresa Nardozzi of Waterbury, and Rita Wilson of Colonial Heights, VA, her grandchildren, Lisa Long, Jennifer and Christopher Moss, Casandra and Justin Pronovost and Jonathan Holmes, a great granddaughter, Addison Long and Georges special friend, Ebony. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles and Roger Pronovost and his sister, Cecile Blanchette. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February4 from 5 to 7 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral service will be held during the calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash St., E. Hartford, CT 06108.
