George S. Baranoski, 80, beloved husband of Christine (Mangini) Baranoski for the last 55 years, passed peacefully on Monday October 26, 2026 at Autumn Lake at Bucks Hill.

George was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 21, 1945, son of the late Edward and Tressa (Baker) Baranoski. He graduated from Croft High School in Waterbury and lived in Wolcott for most of his adult life. He retired from the Waterbury Republican American newspaper where he designed the print layout of the pages for over 20 years.

George enjoyed fishing, photography, playing the guitar, reading, and music.

In addition to his devoted wife Christine, he leaves his daughter Amy Baranoski and her husband Ryan Hammond, his sister Caroline Coviello and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was recently predeceased by his brother-in-law James Coviello.

According to his wishes, George’s funeral services are private and at the convenience of his family.
