Obituary

WOLCOTT- Gayle (Bassett) Pizzuto, 70, of Wolcott, beloved wife and best friend of Nicholas Pizzuto passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her home on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Born in Waterbury on November 24, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Bassett and Lorraine (Legassey) (Bassett) Brady. As a child, she lived in Prospect and graduated from Cheshire High School. She was a dedicated LPN at the Pines at Bristol Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation for the past 17 years. She took her profession very seriously and loved her residents. Gayle was a self-declared sun goddess who loved the beach and vacationing to her second home in North Fort Myers, Florida. She was an avid reader and game player, never passing up a chance to play scrabble, mahjong, rummy cube or mexican train. Above all she loved to laugh, and what an unforgettable laugh it was. In addition to her husband Nick of 44 years, left to carry on her loving legacy are her children Michael (Jennifer) Pizzuto, Jonathan (Jennifer) Pizzuto, Christin (Thomas) Bassett and Elizabeth (Robert) Bergenty; 7 adored grandchildren: Alyssa, Addison, Noah, Jayden, Camden, Mackenzie, and Quentin. She also leaves her sister Sharon Rinaldi, brothers Keith Bassett and John Bassett, mother-in-law Elaine Pizzuto, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Donna Migliaro and her father in-law Ernest Pizzuto. Of course Gayle will also be missed by her furchild Humphrey.
