Obituary

Frederick R. Carey Retired Superintendent of Farmingbury Hills Golf Course With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Frederick Raymond Carey III, aged 69, the beloved husband and cherished confidant of Dawn (Passariello) Carey. Fred departed peacefully on Saturday, April 20th, surrounded by loved ones in his Wolcott residence. Fred entered this world in Waterbury on September 24, 1954, as the son of the late Frederick Jr. and Evelyn Carey. Educated at Wolcott High School, Fred embarked on a dedicated career spanning 33 years with the Town of Wolcott, culminating in his retirement as the esteemed Superintendent of the Farmingbury Hills Golf Course. In the tapestry of his life, Fred wove enduring connections, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his adoring wife of 46 years, Dawn, as well as his son Jarod and daughter Martina Northrop, alongside their respective partners, Amanda Carey, and his three cherished grandchildren, Gabriel, Colton, and Thomas Northrop. Fred is also remembered fondly by his brothers Glenn and his wife Lynn Carey, Joseph and his wife Arlene Carey, Peter and his wife Kathy Carey, Patrick Carey, and his sisters Liz Hutcheson and Deborah, along with her husband Doug Meeker. Additionally, his loyal friend David Caisse mourns his passing deeply. Fred's absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will forever echo through the lives he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared. At Freds request there are no funeral services. Woodtick Memorial is honored to serve the Carey Family at this time and you may visit his tribute on the website www.woodtickmemorial.com.
