Obituary

Fred R. Brown Loving Husband and Father Thomaston- Fred Robert Brown, 48, formerly of Wolcott, passed away on March 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He was the devoted husband to Jennifer (Frick) Brown for 30 years. Fred was born on December 9, 1964. He grew up in Wolcott, attended Wolcott High School and graduated in 1982. Fred was an electrician and a member of IBEW local 488 until 1991. He was also a member of the Thomaston Liederkranz Mens Club Inc. and served as VP until 2009. He enjoyed a competitive game of pool with the guys. Fred loved music and loved to play the drums. He shared his love of music with his children and friends and he acquired a lifelong passion for football, playing the game and rooting for his favorite team, the New England Patriots. He was a communicant at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Fred loved to take the girls fishing when he was able; he was also an avid bird watcher and star gazer. Besides his wife, Jennifer, he will be sadly missed by his daughters, Jessica and Paige Brown both of Thomaston and his loving dog that watched over him, Pepper. He is also survived by his mother Joyce (Dube) Swoditch of Wolcott, his sister, Nancy Brown of New Hampshire, his brothers, Bruce Brown of Thomaston and Scott Brown of Wolcott, twenty nieces and nephews and one great nephew. Fred was predeceased by his younger brother, David and his father, Robert Brown. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 23, from 12 to 4pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott, CT. A prayer service will be at 12:00 with Rev. Stanley Staron. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
