WOLCOTT ~ Floyd Hillman, 69, of Wolcott died peacefully on Feb 22, 2012 at Wolcott View Manor after a brief illness. Floyd was born Oct 12, 1942 in New Haven, son of the late George and Mary (Ciaburro) Hillman. He was married in 1973 and moved to Wolcott where he was a volunteer firefighter at Company # 3 for many years. He enjoyed sports, especially golf and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants. Mr. Hillman is survived by his two children, Michael Hillman of Manchester and Melissa (Hillman) Burns of Wolcott. He also leaves behind his sister and brother in law Lucille & John Bassetti of Orlando, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Stacy Ann Hillman and wife Deborah (Meier) Hillman. Floyds family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to Wolcott View Manor and especially to the staff of Affinity Care Hospice for all the amazing care and compassion they have provided during his illness. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 5th at 7:30 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 pm until the time of the service.
