FLORENCE VANASSE

PANAMA CITY, FL ~ Florence "Mamie" Vanasse, 99, the widow of Prosper Cossette and Wilfred Vanasse passed away January 4, 1011 surrounded by her family.
Florence was born June 3, 1911 in Grandmere, P.Q., Canada to the late Ferdinand and Mary Jane Deschenes. She worked many years at Lux Clock and Bradlees Department Store. She was a member of the Shrine of St. Anne and St. Margarets Church. She served as past treasurer of the Paul Deschenes (her late brother) Post of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Florence and Prosper Cossette married and have four surviving children, Germaine Bouchard of Panama City, FL, Maurice Cossette and his wife, Marlene, of Wolcott, Lorraine Cauley and her husband, Albert of Satellite Beach, FL and Paul Cossette and his wife Janice of Wolcott. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Claude Bouchard. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Paul, Richard, Ronald, Barbara, Michael, Ted, Sandra, Dori, Michael and Michelle and her very special niece, Carol McGrath. Florence also leaves many great grand "Berries", some here and some on the way! Her surviving siblings are her sister, Marie Gauvin, her brother, Julian Deschenes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Florence had a generous nature, loving heart, and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Jan. 10th at 10 am at the Shrine of St. Anne, 515 South Main St., Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Callings hours will be held on Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
