Wolcott Evelyn A. (Larsen) Carey, 91, of Wolcott, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. She was the widow of Frederick Carey Sr. Evelyn was born on March 2, 1928 in Waterbury. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, coloring, puzzles, gardening, and cherished the time she was able to spend with her loving family. Evelyn is survived by seven children, Glenn Carey and his wife Lynn, Deborah Meeker and her husband Doug, Joseph Carey and his wife Arlene, Frederick Carey Jr. and his wife Dawn, Peter Carey and his wife Kathy, Elizabeth Hutcheson, and Patrick Carey; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her sister-in-law Frances Larsen. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Larsen. The family would like to thank the nurses, staff, and Meghan Cleary at Wolcott View Manor for the love and care shown for Evelyn during her stay with them. Funeral services will be held privately.
