Esther Balko WOLCOTT ~ Esther (Tsimonis) Balko, 79, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, September 1, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Paul Balko. Esther was born September 10, 1930 in Waterbury, daughter of the late John and Stamatia (Vlisidis) Tsimonis. She graduated from Wilby High School in 1948. She taught Hairdressing and Cosmetology in Waterbury, Milford, and New Britain. As a lifelong Christian, Esther was dedicated to serving the Lord and studying the Scriptures. She was an active member of the Waterbury Bible Students Association. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them as well as her Christian brethren. Esther leaves her husband, Paul, of 57 years; her daughters, Lydia (Robert) Davis of Jackson, Michigan, Victoria (Gary) Griffin of Shorewood, Illinois, and Priscilla (Paul) Jezuit of Wheaton, Illinois; her sister, Venice Tsimonis, of Southington and her brother, Anthony (Harriet) Tsimonis of Morris. She leaves 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Ashley. All funeral and burial services are private.
