We sadly announce the passing of our father Ernest George Michaud, 98, who joined our beloved late mother Joan (Jensen) Michaud on Wednesday May 7, 2025.

Born in Waterbury on September 7, 1926, Ernest was the son of the late Eugene and Agnes (Cyr) Michaud.

After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp. He proudly served in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He returned to Waterbury and married Joan while employed as a foreman for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Southington for 35 years. He and his wife Joan then moved to Southington up to and including his retirement years.

He was a member of the American Legion and as an avid pilot, loved flying his personal airplanes, taking dinner train rides, watching golf, going to the horse races or just watching them train, reading and doing all kinds of puzzle games.

Ernest will be deeply missed by his daughter Ann Marie Fortunato and son Edward Michaud along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 57 years, he was predeceased by his son-in-law Robert Fortunato, brothers Albert, Norman and Charles Michaud and his sisters Lorraine Michaud and Anne Schaefer.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 15th beginning at 11 AM at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott, CT. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, May 14th from 6 to 8 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation as well as The American Cancer Society of which Ernest was an advocate and avid donor for his late wife Joan.
