Loving Mother and Grandmother Waterbury Ellen T. Collin, 88, passed away on Saturday, September, 15, 2018. Ellen was born in Waterbury on August 9, 1930, daughter of Ernest and Ellen (Matthews) Blondeau. Ellen had a beautiful voice; she loved music and loved to sing. She also loved the ocean, where she felt most at peace. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Raymond Zappone, and his wife, Barbara, of Wolcott; Diane (Zappone) Gomulinski, of Waterbury; Valere Collin, of Waterbury; Stephen Collin, of Waterbury; Karen Newhart, of Watertown; and Colette Dobkins, and her husband, John, of Watertown; her stepson, Marcel Collin, and his wife, Marcella, of FL; her son-in-law, Robert Macary; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ellen was predeceased by her daughter, Ellen (Collin) Macary; 3 brothers, Henry, Irving and Charles Blondeau; and 1 sister, Ernestine Smith. Services will be held privately. The family would like to thank the staff of Watertown Convalarium for the wonderful loving care their mother was given during her stay.
