WOLCOTT- Mrs. Elizabeth (Genovese) Macary, 85, wife of the late Selim P. Macary, passed away peacefully on Dec. 29th at VITAS Hospice Unit at Waterbury Hospital. Born in Waterbury on August 22, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Silvena (Levesque) Genovese. She has been a resident of Wolcott for the last 42 years. She was a marvelous chef and exceptional baker. She devoted her life to her children and family, and loved telling stories over a good home-cooked meal. She was always up for a discussion on history and current events, and always spoke with passion about the topics she cared about. Left to carry on her loving legacy are her sons Peter and his wife Robin Macary, Paul and his wife Lisa Macary, her daughter Linda Macary Gugliotti, and her sister Pauline Genovese. She was "Ma Mere" to Anthony and Paul Gugliotti, and "Grandma Betty" to Hannah, Josiah and Jordan Macary. In addition to her husband Selim, Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother Frank Genovese. Friends and family are invited to a funeral Mass on Friday January 5th at 10 AM at Our Lady of Lebanon Church 8 East Mountain Rd in Waterbury. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
