Waterbury Eliezer Maldonado Matos, 53, of Waterbury, passed away on June 21, 2020 at the VITAS Innovative Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. He was the loving husband of 32 years to Brenda (Gerhard) Maldonado. Eliezer was born on January 16, 1967 in Waterbury, son of Carlos Ruben and Gladys Matos Arroyo. He will be remember for his love of the outdoors, fishing and UConn Mens Basketball. He also cherished the time he spent with family. Besides his wife Brenda, he is survived by his daughter, Crystal Maldonado; son, Al Maldonado; brother, Carlos Ruben Maldondo II; sister, Gladys Santiago; four grandchildren, Dominic, Eliseo, Lyanelly, and Hailee; and four nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Attendees must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Due to restrictions on gatherings, you are kindly asked to leave after paying your respects to allow the next group to enter. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 30 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
