WOLCOTT ~ Eleanor L. Higgins, 82, of Wolcott passed away on October 12, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Eleanor was born August 14, 1931 in Tilton, NH, daughter of the late Herbert D. and Pearl M. (Plummer) Higgins. She was a graduate of Belmont High School, class of 1949. She moved to Connecticut in 1955 and worked at Princeton Knitting Mills, later known as Fletcher Textile. She was a member of Christ Church of Wolcott. Eleanor was a great cook and baker, and was always found in the kitchen or with her nose in a cook book. She loved to do crossword puzzles and play solitaire while watching "The Price Is Right". She will be remembered for always being full of laughter and joy. Eleanor is the loving mother of Brian and Deirdre Higgins of Wolcott, granddaughters, Charlene and Katrina Higgins of Wolcott, sister Pauline Desrochers of Franklin, NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the friend of Theresa and the Late Edward Rompre. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 at 11 am at Christ Church, 16 Townline Rd., Wolcott following by burial in Woodtick Cemetery.
