Thomaston - Mr. Edward J. "Ted" Bordner, 90, of Thomaston, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Cook Willow Nursing Home in Plymouth. He was the husband of Mrs. Jeanne (Lafreniere) Bordner.
Edward was born on November 13, 1924 in Waterbury, son of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Sullivan) Bordner. Edward worked as a chauffeur at International Controls for a number of years and in the shipping and receiving department at Tech Systems Corporation from which he retired after 42 years of service. He also served honorably and proudly in the United States Army. Edward loved medal detecting, building birdhouses and fishing.
Besides Jeanne, his wife of 31 years, Edward is survived by three sons, John Bordner and his wife Alice, Theodore "Ted" Bordner and his wife Sue, and Ronald Bordner and his wife Violet; three grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew and Carley Mae Bordner, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth "Dolly" Neumann; a son, Mark Bordner; brothers, George, Timothy, and Charlie Bordner; and sister, Mary Simpson.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, November 14, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas Church, 1 East Main St., Thomaston. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott has been entrusted with arrangements.
