Wolcott - Donald C. Gilbert, 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020. He was the husband of the late Bernadette (Ouellette) Gilbert. Donald was born in Waterbury on November 22, 1934, son of the late Valare and Augustine Gilbert. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War (1954-1956). He worked for Pratt and Whitney from 1956- 1994 until his retirement. Donald was a member of the American Legion, Post 165. Donald leaves behind his children, Charlene Stroh, and her husband, William; Shirley Dauphinais, and her husband, James; Mark Gilbert; and Bruce Gilbert, and his wife, Jessica Langenbach; his two sisters, Rita Gagnier; and Martha Langton; his grandchildren, Joseph Caruso; Samantha Stroh; William Stroh III; Derrik Dauphinais; Melissa Weiss; Jana Weiss; Brandon Gilbert; Benjamin Gilbert; and Haylee Gilbert; a few great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family. Including his wife, Bernadette, Donald was predeceased by his sisters, Monique Desrochers; and Lorraine Pelletier; and his grandson, Mark Gilbert, Jr. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 13 at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. Meet directly at church. Burial with Military honors will follow in Woodtick Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required during mass and burial.
