DONALD J. CHARETTE Local Accountant WOODBURY ~ Donald J. Charette, 72, of Woodbury passed away on Friday, September 10th at St. Marys Hospital. Don was born January 27, 1938 in Waterbury, son of the late Alcide and Antoinette (Boucher) Charette. He started his accounting career making house visits in 1958, and was a partner in Charette and Makowski & Co. He was a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents. During his youth, he played the guitar with local groups. He was a parishioner of the Shrine of St. Anne Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He volunteered his time with the Shrines bingo for several years. Don was a member of the Franco-American Social Club of Waterbury and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Watertown Golf Club and the Prospect Country Club. Don leaves his sons, Donald Charette II and his wife Suzanne of Woodbury, and Doug Charette and his wife, Linda of Prospect, his daughters, Michele Chase and her husband, Greg of Glastonbury, and Kimberly Bedini and her husband, Luke of Roxbury, his sister, Marlene Kasidas and her husband, Raymond of Watertown, his brother, Clayton "Butch" Charette and his wife, Sue of Ocala, FL, his grandchildren, Brandon and Mackenzie Chase, Luke, Adam and Becca Bedini, Bryan Allyson, and Jennifer Charette, Alexa and Lauren Charette, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Priscilla Corbett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 am at the Shrine of St. Anne, 515 South Main St., Waterbury with burial following at Calvary Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet at the church. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott.
