Obituary

WOLCOTT ~ Diane (Champagne) Farrell passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Wolcott View Manor. She was the widow of Thomas J. Farrell. Diane was born July 6, 1944 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Garceau) Champagne. She married the love of her life, Thomas J. Farrell in 1964 and was dedicated to her family. She served on the Building Committee for the construction of the Wolcott Town Hall, and served as secretary for several local commissions. She was very involved in the community and organized "Hands Across Wolcott" as well as being an active member of the PTA while her daughters attended Wolcott Schools. Diane enjoyed collecting antiques and ran a small antiques business for a few years. Diane leaves her daughters, Andrea Halpin and her husband, Michael of Bristol and Tammy Kerr of Wolcott, her sisters, Patricia Champagne and Linda Beck, both of Eaton, NY, her brother, Jason Champagne of Winsted , her grandchildren, Sadie, Katelyn, Samantha and Christopher, and her great granddaughter, Aurora. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday at 9 am at St. Pius X Church, 525 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Everyone is asked to meet at the Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott on Monday from 5 to 8 pm. Memorial gifts may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter, 659 Tower Ave. - 1st Floor, Hartford, CT 06112-1269.
