Obituary

David N. Welton THOMASTON- Mr. David Nelson Welton, 75, formerly of Wolcott and Meriden, passed away at Waterbury Hospital on Monday March 18th, less than a week before his 76th Birthday. Born in Waterbury, David was the son of the late Earl and Bertha (Morgan) Welton Sr. He was raised in Wolcott graduating from Wolcott High School in 1966. He worked as an expert toolmaker for 52 years, beginning at Eyelets For Industry and retiring from Braxton Manufacturing. In his younger years, David was a boat enthusiast, spending lots of time on his boat, The Pinniped. He also loved classic cars and would frequent car shows across state with his daughters. In retirement, he spent his time beach walking, antiquing, and helping out all of his family, which was always the most important thing to him. He would always give to charity when he could and was a big supporter of our countries veterans. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Caroline and husband Ryan, and Jessica Welton. He is also survived by his brother Allen Welton and wife Diane, grandson Ian Watrous, Goddaughter Lisa Berent and husband David, Nephew Paul Welton and and wife Anne, as well as a multitude of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and his former spouse and still dear friend Concetta Welton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers Tom Welton and Earl "Bud" Welton. Calling hours are Friday March 29th from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday March 30th at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Burial will follow in Woodtick Cemetery.
