Waterbury David Velez, 59, of Waterbury passed away on January 1, 2021, at his home. David was born in Waterbury on March 19, 1961, son of the late Efrain Velez Sr., and Isabel (Vazquez) Velez. David was a great mechanic, loved cooking, and was a black belt in Karate. He will be remembered for his love of family, especially for his nieces and nephews. A great memory his family will always cherish will be David acting as Santa every Christmas. He is survived by his five siblings, Luz Figueroa, Efrain Velez Jr. (Zoraida), Rosa Luciano (Leonides), Jose Velez (Elissa), Diane Feliciano; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Hiram Velez, Manual Velez, Luz Eneida Velez; and his brother-in- law Wilfredo Figueroa. Walk through calling hours will be on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott. Masks and social distancing are required. A Memorial Mass will take place on January 16th at All Saints / Todos los Santos Parish. Information about the mass and burial will be shared by the family at a later date.
