Tallahassee, FL - David Rosa, 68 of Tallahassee Florida, passed away on May 28, 2023. David was born in Waterbury on May 16th, 1955, son of the late Daniel and Ada Rosa.
David completed his bachelors degree at Providence College, and then later in life pursued a career in education. He passionately taught the subject of social studies to middle and high school aged students. Throughout his years of teaching, he also spent some time as a sports coach. After Davids retirement from teaching in Waterbury he moved to Tallahassee, Florida. Shortly after this move, he began to miss the energy of the students and decided to return to the classroom. There, he not only continued to teach social studies and coach sports, but also embraced a new role as a music teacher.
David loved spending time with his two sons, Daniel and DJ. He enjoyed attending their baseball games, bringing them to play golf, and taking them on summer vacations. He was extremely proud of their life accomplishments. In his free time, he engaged in activities such as playing the guitar, watching the Red Sox, and socializing with his friends.
David will forever be remembered for his unmatched ability to radiate positivity. No matter the circumstances, he always managed to find joy in life. From his family and friends to his students and colleagues, David left a profound impact on everyone he encountered. He demonstrated just how great life can be when one embraces love, dedication, and an optimistic mindset.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Rosa and his wife, Marissa, of Wolcott and David Rosa of San Francisco. He is also survived by one sister, Donna Harris of Cheshire, as well as one nephew, Christopher Harris, and one niece, Deanna Rosa. David was predeceased by brothers, Daniel Rosa and Dean Rosa.
Family and friends may call on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. A funeral service will be held at 12. Burial is private.
