DAVID "SID" STEELE Retiree of ADT WOLCOTT ~ David "Sid" Steele, 80, of Wolcott passed away on December 23th at St. Marys Hospital. He was the husband of Evelyn (Brillis) Steele. Dave was born July 8, 1930 in Waterbury, son of the late Marshall and Edna (Gammon) Steele. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1949. He retired from ADT after 39 years of service and was a lifetime member of the Liberty-Continental Lodge No. 76 in Waterbury. Dave enjoyed fishing and reading, but his favorite pastime was refinishing furniture which he did for over 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially playing a game of chess with his grandson, Jeffrey. Besides his wife of 62 years, he leaves his son, Gary Steele and his wife, Maribeth of Wolcott, his daughter, Linda LaFauci and her husband, Eugene of Woodbury, his grandchildren, Jeffrey Desrosiers, and Lisa and Ashley Steele, and his step-sister, Marion Reason of Jacksonville, FL. He was predeceased by his son, Dennis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
