Daniel Thomas DeTuccio, age 48, of Wolcott, formerly of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, surrounded by his loving family. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Daniel was the beloved son of Judith (Connor) DeTuccio and the late Sebastian DeTuccio. Before making his home in Wolcott, he was a resident of West Hartford, where he attended Conard High School and later Central Connecticut State University. Daniel was incredibly proud of his accomplishments as a semi-professional mountain biker, a passion that reflected his adventurous spirit and determination.
Daniel was employed at Quality Data Services in Waterbury as a Marketing and Sales Director, where he was deeply respected and loved by his QDS family. To Daniel, his work was never just a job — it was something he poured his heart into every day. His passion, dedication, and warm personality touched everyone fortunate enough to work alongside him.
Above all else, Daniel’s greatest joy in life was his family. He adored his loving wife, Donna (Stodolski) Petruska-DeTuccio, and treasured every moment spent with her. Whether cooking elaborate five-star meals, walking the trails with Donna and their beloved dog Daisy, or simply enjoying quiet moments together, Daniel’s love for his wife was endless and unconditional. Donna loved him deeply, and life will never be the same without him by her side. He was her best friend, her greatest love, and the center of her world.
Daniel was a devoted and loving father to his beloved daughters, Brianna and Lyla DeTuccio of West Hartford, who were the light of his life. He loved his little girls with all his heart and cherished every moment spent with them. Nothing made him prouder than being their dad, and his love for them was endless. He was also a caring and devoted stepfather to Dylan Petruska and Jessica Fonseca, and a loving father-in-law to Matt Fonseca, embracing each of them as his own with unconditional love, guidance, and support. They all held a very special place in his heart. Daniel also shared a deeply special bond with his mother, Judy DeTuccio of Wolcott. He always made sure she was cared for, comforted, and surrounded by love, reflecting the kindness and devotion that defined his life.
Daniel had a smile that could light up any room, and his kindness was contagious. Anyone who met him instantly felt like a friend. He always put others before himself and would do absolutely anything for his family and friends. He loved bringing people together and took great joy in hosting family gatherings filled with music, lights, laughter, and incredible food. His favorite saying, “Go Big or Go Home,” perfectly captured the joyful, generous spirit with which he lived his life.
Daniel was also known for his funny personality and incredible sense of humor. He was always joking, making people laugh, and bringing joy wherever he went. In true Daniel fashion, he would always joke that he wanted his tombstone to read, “Daniel DeTuccio — Work in Progress,” a reflection of his lighthearted spirit and the laughter he brought to those around him.
In addition to his wife, mother, children, and stepchildren, Daniel leaves behind several beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends, and many people whose lives were forever changed by his kindness, generosity, and love.
Daniel will be truly and deeply missed. Though his time here was far too short, the love he gave so freely and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
