Claudia Cherry Retired Educator WATERBURY- Claudia Cherry, a cherished daughter, dedicated educator, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on December 24, 1945, Claudia's life was a testament to love, dedication, and community spirit. For over 32 years, Claudia was a dedicated teacher in the City of Waterbury, where she imparted knowledge and passion for Physical Education and Health to countless students. Recruited by Mr. Bill Evans to teach in the Waterbury School System, she spent the majority of her career at Wallace Middle School. There, she not only taught but also coached the girls' basketball team and, alongside her dear friend Margaret Gibson, led the Wallace Middle School Gymnastics Team. Claudia's life was a beacon of kindness, dedication, and unwavering support for her community. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul rest in peace. Claudias life will be celebrated on Monday July 15th at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott with a Memorial Service beginning at 1 PM.
