WOLCOTT- Christine L. (Duszak) Frageau 62, passed peacefully on September 27th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a 4 year battle with brain cancer. She was born on October 28th, 1961, was predeceased by her father Casimer Duszak and is survived by her mother Janice Duszak.
Christine grew up in Wolcott and spent her adult life on Hitchcock Lake with her husband of 35 years, James Frageau. She met James early in life. They were true soul mates who worked together to create an incredible life for themselves and their three children. She was a homemaker and loving mother to her three children, James Jr., Cassandra, and Alexa.
Thirty years ago, Christine was diagnosed with a serious heart condition in which she spent a majority of her life battling, only to be diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer four years ago. She had an undeniable fighting spirit and positive attitude which carried her through tough times. She fought immensely hard to stay on this earth with us as long as possible and lived a full, beautiful life for her 62 years.
In addition to dedicating her life to her husband and children, she spent 42 years working in commercial line insurance and often became friendly with her clients- some even keeping business with her for most of her career. She had a selfless and infectious giving spirit and gift giving was a love language of hers - which went hand in hand with her love of shopping. She was a wonderful cook and in her most recent years, planned her weekends around when her kids would be visiting to sit down for a big family dinner. When she wasnt cooking or shopping, she loved to spend her free time with friends testing the slot machines at the casino.
Christine especially loved to travel and even through her illness; she was determined to experience as many trips as possible to her favorite places. She enjoyed countless trips with family and friends to Aruba, Disney World, California, and many Caribbean cruises she shared with her husband - all of which were made possible by her tenacious spirit and determination to live life to the fullest.
She spent the past three years, welcoming four grandchildren, taking on her favorite title yet, of Grammy. In such short time, she spoiled these four babies with enough love and gifts that they will have to carry with them through their lives.
She was a loving sister, daughter, mother, and wife, and shared in many lifelong friendships. Her love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and sweet dachshund, Tucker, were unmatched and she leaves behind an unfillable void for those who loved her.
Left to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy are loving husband James Frageau, her mother, Janice Duszak, her children, James Frageau Jr., Cassandra (Zachary) Gladding, and Alexa (Anthony) Piscitello, and her grandchildren, Alexander & Samuel Gladding, Anthony Piscitello Jr. and Rylee Frageau. She will also be deeply missed by her four sisters, Deborah Duszak Russell, Doreen (Gary) Newell, Joanne (Ray) Hubbard, Bonnie Losty, and many loving friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful family members, friends, caregivers, and medical staff Hartford Healthcare- Watertown Homecare division, that have lifted her up and supported them through her illness and beyond.
