Christa M. Mordino WOLCOTT- Miss Christa Marie Mordino, 33, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 29th at her home in Wolcott. Born in New Haven on June 21, 1991, Christa was the daughter of Alfred D. Jr. and Janet M. (Qubeck) Mordino. Raised in Wolcott, Christa graduated from Wilcox Technical High School and also earned an Associates Degree at Naugatuck Valley Community College. For the past ten years she worked at UCONN Health Center in Farmington with the last two years having been an administrative assistant in the Cancer Center. Christa was a beautiful, gentle and fun free spirit who loved country music, reading books, cowboy boots and long drives in her pick-up truck with her fur baby, Jack. She was a true patriot and loved her country. Christa always let it be known how important family meant to her. Her favorite times were spent in Otis, MA at the lake swimming and kayaking with her family and friends. She cherished her girl time adventures with her Mom and nieces every Saturday and loved getting silly with her nephews. Her sister was her best friend, confidant and her fiercest supporter. They loved shopping and bonded over their love of iced coffee and Target runs. She loved being pampered and could always count on her sister-in-law to make her feel beautiful. Christa had a great sense of humor and was entertained by her brother-in-law Tommys routine dad jokes and loved his grilling of steaks and chicken. Christa, her father and brother shared their love for football and watching New York Giants together. In addition to her parents, left to cherish her memory are her sister Jennifer and her husband Thomas Lombardi, her brother Alfred D. Mordino III and his wife Megan, her paternal grandmother Gemma Mordino, her nieces Aubree and Hailee Mordino, Charlotte Lombardi, her nephews Dominic and William Lombardi, and several aunts uncles and cousins. Christa was preceded in death by her loving Maternal Grandparents, Charles and Charlotte Qubeck, her Paternal Grandfather Alfred D. Mordino and her loving Uncle Thomas Centinaro. Friends and family are invited to celebrated Christas life on Monday October 7th at a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10 AM at St. Pius X Church/St. Basil the Great Parish 517 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
