On Friday February 13, 2026, Mr. Celestino “Charlie” Solla, beloved husband of the late Adriana (Romano) Solla, passed peacefully at his daughter’s home in Wolcott.

Born in Pontelandolfo, Italy on April 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Felice and Raimonda (Guerrera) Solla. Shortly after being married in Italy in 1967, Charlie and Adriana moved to Waterbury where he lived ever since. For over forty-five years, Charlie worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, retiring in 2001. Charlie enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, making wine and sausage, clamming on Milford Beach, and taking care of his fig trees. He was also an avid fan of the New England Patriots. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Left to carry on his legacy are his daughter, Antoinette “Toni” and her husband Joseph Cianciolo, his son, Italo and his wife, Jennifer Solla all of Wolcott, his four grandchildren; James Cianciolo and his fiancée Melissa Horan, Sara Rinaldi and her husband Matt, David and Christian Solla, his great grandson Lorenzo Rinaldi, his two brothers Carmine and his wife Maria Solla, Italo Solla, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Charlie was predeceased by six brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 16, 2026 beginning at 11 AM at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd in Wolcott. Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 AM.
