Cecile Soucy BRISTOL- Mrs. Cecile "Ceil" (Lacombe) Soucy, 98, wife of the late Percy J. Soucy, died peacefully at the Pine at Bristol on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Born in Waterbury on September 29, 1926, Cecile was the daughter of the late Alfred and Aldea (Gelinas) Lacombe. Cecile graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School and Post Jr. College. She started working part time at the age of 16 at U.S. Rubber Co. in Naugatuck, which later became Uniroyal, retiring at the age of 53 as a Corporate Secretary. She then worked in temporary part-time positions as secretary and retired at age of 92 as office manager for Anco Tool & Manufacturing. Ceil and Percy loved to travel and visit many places. They also enjoyed their trips to the casino playing the slot machines. Her favorite past time was scratching lottery tickets. Ceil is survived by her two brothers Roger Lacombe, Rene (Lina) Lacombe, her two sisters Lillian Orzell and Irene Lacombe. She also leaves several generations of many nieces, nephews, her brothers-in-law Ronald Soucy, Claude Soucy, and her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lacombe, Sylvia Uszakiewics, Rita FitzSimmons and Kathleen Nardello. In addition to husband of 56 years, Ceil was predeceased by three brothers, Maurice, Raymond and Charles Lacombe, two nephews Mark and Allan Lacombe, a niece Patricia Lacombe, and two sisters-in-law Doris and Rita Lacombe. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ceils life on Saturday November 2nd at a Funeral Mass beginning at 10:30 AM in St. Leo The Great Church / Mary Mother of the Church Parish 14 Bentwood Dr. in Waterbury.
