Carmen Caron, 92, passed away on April 2, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Irenee Caron.
Born on April 3, 1922, in Baker Brook, New Brunswick, Canada, Carmen was one of 15 children born to the late Maxime and Elizabeth (Coulombe) Cloutier. She most currently resided in Waterbury where she loved to take care of her grandchildren. She also loved to play cards with her family, and was a big fan of the UConn Womens Basketball team.
Carmen is survived by her sons, Rino Caron and his wife Cindy of Ocala, FL; Philippe Caron and his wife Andrea of Prospect; and Maurice Caron of West Palm Beach, FL; her daughters, Rina and her husband Maurice Pelletier of Eagle Lake, Maine; Jeanne (Geneva) and her husband Larry Gronau of Waterbury; Norma Kennedy of Waterbury; and Jackie (Jacinthe) and her husband Francisco Pereira of Newington; her siblings, Eulysse, Yvon, Therese, and Lucille; and her grandchildren, Bruce and Lori Kennedy; Sheryl and Roberto Albini; Tyra and Henry Chan; Thomas Gronau; Todd and Corin Gronau; Larry Gronau Jr.; Michael Gronau; Rene Valesquez; Sharon and Gerald Raymond; Glen and Tressa Pelletier; Nancy and Bill Lozito; Dawn, Cassie, Eric, and Andrew Caron; and her 18 great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by her son, Luc Caron; and her siblings, Ronald, Alyre, Emile, Guy, Maryanne, Gilbert, Gilberte, Lauramay, Jeanne, and Lionel.
Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Woodtick Memorial, 420 Woodtick Road, Wolcott. A funeral mass will be held at the Shrine of St. Anne, in Waterbury, on Thursday, April 9 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
