Wolcott- Carla (Oksenkrug) Chiappalone, 52, passed away on Saturday, August 16, at the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care Unit at St. Marys Hospital. Carla was born June 26, 1962 in Queens, New York, daughter of Lita Hooley of Wolcott and the late Harold Oksenkrug. Raised in Connecticut she has resided in Wolcott for many years. Carla will be remembered as a very happy person who enjoyed spending time with her family and loved music and movies and was very proud of the work she did on behalf of the special needs community. In addition to her mother she is survived by her daughter, Samantha J. Santelli and her husband Nicholas of Danbury; two sons, Kristopher A. Chiappalone and his wife Kristy of Wolcott and Michael D. Chiappalone of Wolcott; her sister, Shari Brown of Wolcott; her brother, David Oksenkrug of New Haven; five grandchildren; her niece, Hillary and nephew Adam. Arrangements: Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 19, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Woodtick Memorial 420 Woodtick Rd., Wolcott. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Queen of Peace Mausoleum in the Calvary Cemetery.
